The Al-Munirah Centre is a registered N.P.O as well as N.G.O, serving as an Early Intervention Centre for Learners with Special Needs and their families, and has been in existence for over 30 years. The centre was initially opened in recognition of the need to provide an educational and stimulatory facility for these learners in the community of Roshnee, which was sorely lacking at the time. We now accept learners from the community of Roshnee and surrounding areas such as Sebokeng, Everton, etc from the early childhood age range of 5 years old up into adulthood. The learners present with a variety of disabilities such as Physical and Intellectual Handicaps, among others Down’s Syndrome, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy etc.
We currently have 12 learners on our roll, with our staff complement including our principal, one educator and 1 caretaker/ caregiver. We are not government subsidised, hence the Centre operates solely on private Sponsorships and Donations from the community and local businesses to exist, which is managed by our Board of Trustees.
